“She confidently trusts the Lord to take care of her.”
Throughout these pages, you will find a record of my journey through motherhood, marriage, and everything God teaches me about this life I love, and how you can learn to do the same.
Hey guys! I’m The Message Mama, but you can call me LJ. I’m a 20-something year old wife to my best friend (cliche, I know), and mommy to two beautiful baby girls! I’m also obsessed with chocolate, my dogs, and decorating our newly renovated house. Our gorgeous home is out in the country, and this small-town girl wouldn’t have it any other way! I was born and raised Catholic, and I mean the “my mom was my CCD teacher, my parents brought me to their retreat meetings, if you’re sick you are watching mass on TV” kind of Catholic. Looking back though, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Because that’s how I met my best friend.
My husband, DJ, and I met in church, so naturally, God is a huge part of our marriage. Although, in the beginning of our relationship, He wasn’t as present as I would have liked. So, after we got married in 2015, and I found out I was pregnant with SJ a couple months later, I was determined to bring God into our family, this blog being one of the ways I am documenting how we are doing just that.
The day I decided to start this blog, it was like God lifted a weight off my shoulders. By deciding to share what I learn about being a mom and a wife, to hopefully be able to help others on the same journey, was like God saying “Finally, you figured out what I was trying to tell you!” I thought I found my calling when I was in high school and started my own photography business. I love doing photography, but it never felt right. I love teaching, but being a teacher didn’t fit either, and I’m not advanced enough in photography to teach that. But being a mom and a wife, now that I love, that is what I’m truly passionate about, and that is what I want to help others learn about. I am not claiming to be a perfect mom or a perfect wife, but I do claim to work with everything I have to better myself as a mom and a wife, and to help you do the same.
